Q. Does disinfection really work?
A. Yes. Through the use of carefully selected chemicals (like hospital grade disinfectants), equipment, and methods developed with the expertise of industrial hygienists and infection control specialists, disinfection greatly reduces the viral load on shared surfaces, lessening the chance of transmission.
Q. What can I do to help?
A. Maintain 6 feet of space between you and other people, wash your hands for 20 seconds often, disinfect shared surfaces before and after use, cover your coughs and sneezes, and stay home if you feel sick.
Q. Should I wear a mask?
A. At this time, the CDC recommends covering your mouth and nose with a cloth face cover when around others. You could spread COVID-19 to others even if you do not feel sick. Do not use a face mask meant for a healthcare worker. Continue to keep about 6 feet between yourself and others. The cloth face cover is not a substitute for social distancing.
Q. What are the symptoms of COVID-19?
A. These symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to COVID-19: fever or chills (above 100.4 degrees per CDC guidelines or a specific temperature range as outlined by local ordinance), cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and/or diarrhea.
