Video and Audio Recording Notice

1. Overview
Certain vehicles operated by or on behalf of ABM Industries are equipped with video and audio recording systems. These systems are used to promote safety, security, and operational integrity.
By riding in a vehicle equipped with this system, you are provided notice that video and audio recording may occur as described below.
2. What Is Recorded
- Video and audio recordings occur onboard the vehicle. Video recordings occur outside the vehicle.
- Recordings are not continuously monitored or reviewed in real time.
3. How the System Operates
- Video and audio are recorded locally on the vehicle.
- Recordings are automatically overwritten after approximately seven (7) days, unless:
- A safety, security, or operational incident occurs, or
- Footage is required for investigation, legal compliance, or law-enforcement purposes.
- When an incident occurs, relevant recordings from before, during, and after the event may be retained and uploaded to secure cloud servers for review.
4. Purposes of Recording
Recordings may be accessed, reviewed, or disclosed for the following legitimate business and public-interest purposes:
- Driver safety.
- Vehicle safety, including ensuring the vehicle is safely operated on public roadways.
- Fuel efficiency and operational efficiency.
- Public safety, including helping protect passengers, drivers, and others from vehicle-related incidents.
- Investigation of safety, security, or operational incidents.
- Compliance with legal obligations.
- Response to lawful requests from law-enforcement authorities.
5. Retention of Recordings
- Non-incident recordings are retained onboard for approximately seven (7) days and then overwritten.
- Recordings associated with incidents are retained only for the period required by applicable law, regulation, or legitimate business need.
- Access to recordings is restricted to authorized personnel and service providers.
6. Disclosure of Recordings
Recordings may be disclosed:
- To authorized employees or service providers acting on our behalf.
- To insurers, investigators, or auditors as necessary.
- To law-enforcement agencies or other authorities in response to lawful requests.
Recordings are not sold and are not used for advertising or marketing purposes.
7. Privacy Rights (California Residents)
California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including the right to:
- Request information about the collection and use of personal information.
- Request access to or deletion of personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
