Creating pathways to sustainability
Arizona Diamondbacks

ABM partnered with the Arizona Diamondbacks to deliver consistent, high-quality cleaning across their facilities while advancing water conservation goals and supporting more than two hundred events annually. Our team deployed heat-map-informed cleaning verification, smart restroom technology with digital usage tracking, and a reusable cups program alongside an expanded recycling and waste diversion program. The results: 42,000+ single-use cups diverted from landfills, an 82% return rate on reusable cups, 198,000 gallons of water saved in the first month, and paper waste held to 8% — well below the industry average of 15–20%.
California school district

ABM designed an innovative clean energy system for a California school district transitioning from carbon-based energy to sustainable EV fleet charging, combining solar panels on a new bus canopy, battery energy storage, and microgrid-balancing switchgear built to operate through prolonged utility outages. Buses now charge on a mix of utility and clean solar power, cutting costs and emissions, while the system lets the district sell excess capacity back to the grid. The result is a new revenue stream, a smaller carbon footprint, and added resilience for the regional grid.
Northeast US airport

ABM helped a major airport terminal in the Northeast US improve service delivery and energy efficiency through our ABM Connect™ platform and predictive maintenance features, reducing energy consumption, extending equipment life, and surfacing immediate cost-savings opportunities. The airport achieved ROI in just four months, well ahead of the original 6–9 month estimate. It has since realized nearly $170K in energy savings, with more than $60K in additional savings identified since deployment.
See our sustainability progress
Our Corporate Responsibility Report provides clients with a transparent view of our environmental performance, governance practices, and commitment to continuous improvement.
Winter storm vulnerabilities
Winter storms can wreak havoc on energy systems, leading to power outages and disrupted services. The same RavenVolt Cortex platform that powers our clients' resiliency infrastructure monitors weather conditions across the nation daily, prompting our 24/7 Network Operations Center (NOC) to prepare monitored microgrids well ahead of storms. This gives service technicians logged data and alarm codes to speed troubleshooting and resolution when storms hit.
Building a reliable supply chain
ABM is committed to curating a broad ecosystem of suppliers that enhances our service delivery and fuels economic vitality in the communities where we operate. We recognize that economically empowered businesses, in addition to strengthening our supply chain, also contribute to the long-term sustainability and growth of our markets.
Our Strategic Partner Mentorship Program plays a key role in developing a resilient supply chain aligned with our go-to-market strategies and broader business objectives. Launched in 2025 with a pilot cohort of nine graduating partners, the program is expanding through 2026 with workshops, webinars, and one-on-one coaching from ABM executives, culminating in a graduation ceremony and networking opportunities for participating suppliers. Through this program, we aim to:

- Establish engagement structures that drive socially responsible outcomes for local communities
- Build collaborative relationships with leading supplier organizations
- Unlock new growth opportunities by expanding our supplier base and widening supply options for our clients
- Extend our Strategic Partner Program internationally
Securing business continuity
Beyond the power-continuity solutions we build for clients, ABM safeguards its own ability to deliver service without interruption — across our office locations in all 50 U.S. states and abroad, and for the tens of thousands of team members who travel to client sites daily. Contingency and business continuity plans, along with crisis management and disaster recovery procedures, are reviewed regularly with our Safety, Risk, and Legal teams to keep us prepared for any adverse weather that could affect service delivery.

We continuously drive improvements in health and safety, boost productivity, and enhance occupant experience and satisfaction, while focusing on client sustainability priorities
Revolutionizing facility care
IoT sensor technology
We install IoT-enabled sensors in paper towel dispensers and restrooms to optimize restocking, reduce waste, and improve labor efficiency. These sensors track usage patterns and integrate with ABM Connect™ to support data-driven service scheduling and real-time facility performance monitoring.
AI-powered waste management
Our bin-tracking sensors are delivered in partnership with Recycle Track Systems through the Pello Sensor, giving clients a supported, branded version of this capability. In practice, that means haulers are alerted when bins reach a preset capacity, replacing weekly pickups with an optimized schedule that increases recycling rates and reduces haul-off costs.
Robotic cleaning
ABM has launched a autonomous robotics pilot in partnership with LaGuardia Gateway Partners (LGP), the operator of LaGuardia Airport’s award-winning Terminal B. As part of the pilot, ABM introduced both autonomous inspection and cleaning robots.
These autonomous machines operate safely and with minimal supervision, allowing our janitorial teams to focus on higher-value service responsibilities, and reduce floor chemical and water usage by 50–70%. Broader applications, including humanoid robotics, remain in early exploration and will progress gradually.
Nontoxic cleaning
For industries with high sanitation standards, such as aviation, ABM offers Aqueous Ozone—a chemical-free, fast-acting cleaning solution. This eco-friendly oxidizer meets health department requirements, reduces chemical costs by up to 93%, and cuts drying times by up to 60%, all while eliminating residue and airborne irritants.
Inspire Today's InnovationAligned with client priorities
ABM's governance structure safeguards and advances client interests at every level. In partnership with independent director-led committees, our board provides disciplined oversight over sustainability and responsibility performance. In 2025, we strengthened this foundation with the launch of a cross-functional Sustainability Council, bringing together leaders from operations, legal, procurement, finance, environmental, health and safety, investor relations, and other key functions to drive our sustainability strategy forward. We work closely to anticipate risks and shape real-time business strategies, ensuring transparency and long-term value.
Our three-part value promise
- Drive environmental stewardship
- Build a people-centered culture
- Lead with honesty and integrity
